Many hugged and some of them broke down in tears."The sentence imposed today recognizes the significance of Bernard Madoff's crimes," Lev Dassin, acting U.S. attorney, said in a written statement.The 150-year sentence is the maximum that federal prosecutors in New York requested, based on the number of Madoff's victims, the amount of money he stole and the extent of the damage he caused. Clocking in at an exhausting 163 minutes even without some of the book's various subplots, the film forfeits momentum and suspense for a jerky succession of expository dialogue scenes, interspersed with occasional flashes of grotesque ultra-violence. Many of the bodies recovered in the area were found in an incredibly well-preserved, almost mummified condition. The shaman, however, was a skeleton."The deceased was laid out on the bottom of this tomb on a little bier," Russo said. "This individual seemed to be very high status because of the variety and quality of the grave goods, including the equestrian equipment, the archery equipment and the large amount of cannabis."Russo said no pipe for smoking the cannabis was found in the shaman's tomb. Researchers think he might have eaten the cannabis or possibly put it on a burning fire to create fumes.They don't think it was used to make hemp clothing or rope, as some other early cultures did. Sculptor creates treehouse-like tent.By Matthew Knight For CNNLONDON, England . -- It is probably the most unusual tent you'll ever see.Dangling from a tree trunk like a surreal oversized pear, the Treetent is a cross between a treehouse and a tent. But Dutch sculptor Dre Wapenaar sees his creation as much more than just a novel bit of camping kit. It is, he says, a piece of art.Wapenaar is an artist with over 20 years professional experience, but the inspiration for creating tents stretches right back to his childhood."I started building them when I was a kid. We had a competition in the neighborhood to build the coolest tent," Wapenaar told CNN.He graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts in Tilburg, Holland in 1986 and set up his own studio in Rotterdam the following year. He describes his sculptures as an artistic exploration of how groups of people and individuals relate to one another."People from all over the world are coming to live in Holland, so you have to make new forms of living together," he said. "The tent is a nice metaphor for studying this."The tear-shaped frame of the Treetent is constructed from steel, covered in canvas and anchored to a tree trunk. It measures four meters high and is over two meters in diameter. The interior incorporates a horizontal wooden platform which Wapenaar says can sleep up to four people.But it's not something you can pack up and put in your rucksack. "It's not a portable framework," he said. Only three years later, after 1966, you had the Woodstock festival and you get rock music almost performing a religious function. So I think in a way he was aware of what was happening.
